Hi! I'm Heather and I am a peri-menopausal mum of 2 teenage daughters and the struggle is real!
In the last few years I have developed a huge passion for menopause management, for a number of reasons (mostly personal experience and that of friends). In the landscape of a health system currently unable to support such a massive health need, I have found myself wanting to support women to understand the process of ageing, its impact on our reproductive health and to empower women to proactively mange their needs on an holistic level.
As we know, the list of menopausal symptoms is significant and many of them cross over with multiple other conditions. Well I'm here to tell you that ALL of them are manageable with the correct intervention!
The key in managing this complex phase in our lives is understanding that we are all individuals and nothing is static. What worked for you a year ago, now may not work. What hasn't helped in the past, may now offer some relief. What works for a friend may not work for you and vice versa.
An holistic assessment is key to understanding what YOUR body requires and following this we will develop a treatment plan together.

Menopause The Foundations graduate
Aside from being hungry for the latest developments in the world of menopause, nursing holds a commitment to lifelong learning and continuous development, so my studies around menopause management are ongoing and I continue to disseminate this to my clients, enabling them to master their menopause.
Fed up with feeling not like yourself, over tired, achy all over, poor concentration, poor memory, disturbed sleep, hot flashes, painful sex? Searching for help and overwhelmed with information, that you often cant quite absorb?
It's great that Menopause is such a hot topic right now, it means that there is lots of information out there and many people advocating for women. But it is also so easy to get swept along with the media sensationalising menopause stories, especially when we are weary and worried and struggling to achieve balance. The reality is that there isn’t a right or a wrong in terms of anything specifically menopause related.. its all hugely individual, and therefore headlines, menopause books and podcasts will surely give you generalised advice of what works for many, but I’m interested in what will work for YOU.
Following a period of my own ill health, recognising my perimenopause and knowing I needed to do something, but didn’t know what, I started looking at resources. What I discovered was lots of people offering their opinions and views on what you should definitely do during your peri/pause and very little in the way of personalised holistic approaches. A holistic approach looks at the whole person rather than looking at a part of us that isn’t working as it should. An example would be the classic testosterone! “what you need is testosterone – that will sort your lacklustre libido out!” Err, no! On occasions, testosterone replacement is needed, but rarely, and people offering you a quick access to testosterone are skipping a very large part of the jigsaw, so please don’t be tempted by the quick wins. Adjusting into this phase is a process not a task, and it takes some time. Hence masteringMYmenopause was born. I can absolutely prescribe you Hormone Replacement Therapy (HRT), but I will only do so after making sure this is actually what you need, because individual risk factors are critical and safety is paramount.
We aim to educate, support, empower and coach you to not just navigate the labyrinth that is the menopause, but to MASTER it!
MasteringMYmenopause recognises that whilst women may have similar challenges through this period, we are so very different, and therefore only an individualised holistic biopsychosocial assessment should be the building blocks for a personalised treatment plan.
Remember, menoPAUSE is an opportunity to pause, reflect and make changes for the better, ensuring a healthy and active you for many post-menopausal years. I will guide and coach you through the transition offering you a non-judgemental, caring, knowledgeable approach and together we can turn this phase into something so very positive.
We are based in Norfolk, so face to face sessions and Retreats will be Norfolk and Suffolk based (for now!), but recognising that geography shouldn't preclude, and that we are busy people juggling a lot, we also offer virtual 121s and CBT sessions, in working hours and during evenings and weekends.
During your 121 assessment, we will undertake a full holistic, utilising a biopsychosocial model to ensure we consider you as a whole, what your symptoms are, what you have already tried. Establishing your goals - what is important to you as an outcome? We will formulate a plan together and i will help you to prioritise the order in which to address issues. This assessment will include consideration of or reassessment of prior HRT attempts, the detail as to why it hasn't worked for you, considering options for alternative HRT, review of lifestyle factors in a supportive way.
CBT is an evidence-based therapeutic approach that focusses on identifying and changing certain thought patterns and behaviours. It offers practical strategies to manage symptoms and improve overall quality of life. It can be used alongside alternative therapies or in conjunction with typical pharmaceutical treatments such as Hormone Replacement Therapy (HRT).
There is nothing more valuable than giving yourself the time and space to gather the strength to navigate complex situations, and peri/pause is definitely one of those times. Coming together with women suffering similar symptoms and creating that shared safe space, developing new friendships, learning about treatment options, and being empowered to take control, your way - an invaluable gift to yourself, or someone else who needs it.
Sometimes we need some additional support to help us look and feel great, that may be a facial , manicure, new hair etc. I can help you with natural looking anti-wrinkle injections and dermal fillers. As an experienced, Harley Street trained facial injector, and a prescribing registered nurse, I can assess and treat without the need for questionable remote prescriptions. I had always thought these things weren't for me, but I am growing to love them! I don't want to deny ageing completely or look like I'm 20, but I am happy to receive a little help! Gives me a real emotional pick me up too!
Many of the ladies I see for aesthetic support were inspirational when it came to founding masteringMYmenopause. They helped me identify such a huge gap in services where women like us can so easily fall through the gaps - so a big shout out to my aesthetic ladies!

The most commonly talked about (and observed) symptoms of menopause. The vaso-motor symptoms of hot flashes and night sweats often compound other symptoms such as brain fog and low mood courtesy of having been awake and sweating in the night. Menopause management can be like dominoes.. manage your key symptoms and the others tend to get in line!
You are not alone! Vast numbers of women suffer with dry vagina, urinary incontinence, painful sex, frequent UTIs - all completely manageable! I want to be having great sex until I am 90 and I want to support any other woman to do the same if they so choose!
Prompted initially by hormonal changes and then further impacted by pretty much every menopause symptom there is, brain fog, forgetfulness, fatigue, poor concentration, reduced self-esteem and confidence, depression, anxiety and irritability can become an endless loop feeding further symptoms if they are not managed.
